My backup DNS server has gone down, permanently. The PSU works and yet it won’t switch on.

It’s not a power house, being a 533Mhz EPIA, but it was enough for the task. I’ll take this opportunity to upgrade, using a motherboard and CPU I had lying around, with hard disk and memory from another computer. The only thing I lack is a case, but I’ve ordered one for £23 that’ll do for the short term, and I’ll replace the PSU with an 80plus efficient one later.

I’ve just finished re-installing Microsoft Vista on my work laptop. Boy was that a good idea.

Before doing this I was experiencing instability, random crashing of explorer, sleep mode sometimes worked, sometimes not, but always slowly, and no, it was not hibernating!. Also it didn’t always wake up from sleep…   Lucky bugger!
